About
A design-led studio that does the whole job
dfirst starts where good work should — with people. We study the psychology and the research behind a decision before we design it, then carry it all the way through build and growth, under one roof.
We design around how people actually think, build it properly, and grow it after launch. Some of that work is for clients; some is our own products, which double as our proof. Either way the standard is the same: understand people, design for them, then make it known.
What we believe
Four things we hold to
Design leads
The name is the promise. We decide how a thing should look, feel and behave — grounded in how people actually perceive and decide — before we decide how to build it.
One team, end to end
Brand, product, engineering, video and growth sit together. No hand-offs lost in translation, no 'that's not our department'.
Ship the real thing
We build products, not demos — typed, tested, secure and fast. The polish you see is matched by the parts you don't.
We use our own medicine
We run the full process on our own products first. If it isn't good enough for us to ship, it isn't good enough to hand you.

Founder
Kumar Gaurav founded dfirst to build digital products the way they should be built — design-led, grounded in how people actually think, and carried the whole way, from the first sketch to launch and growth.
How we work
The same four beats, every time
From a one-page logo to a full launch, the shape of the work stays the same.
- 01
Understand
We study the people it's for — their goals, context and behaviour — through research and psychology, before a single pixel. The brief gets sharper before anything gets made.
- 02
Design
Design leads. We shape the thing — brand, interface, story — until it's right in principle, then prove it with real screens and real words.
- 03
Build
We build it properly: typed, fast, accessible, secure. The polish you see is matched by the parts you don't.
- 04
Grow
A launch is a beginning. We set up the content, the funnels and the measurement so the work keeps earning after it ships.
Let's build
Have something worth making well?
Tell us what you're working on. We'll come back with how we'd approach it — and whether we're the right studio for it.
